Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for Children & Adolescents
Qualifications
I am an experienced and fully qualified specialist child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor working with children and young people up to the age of 25. My approach is based on building a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment where children and young people can feel truly seen and heard. Through empathy, acceptance, curiosity and playfulness, we develop a trusting therapeutic relationship which forms the bases of all my work.
Art can be a powerful tool for transformation, and as an integrative practitioner, I draw upon the creative arts, along with talking therapies, to facilitate the work. Incorporating imagery, drawing, sand-tray, regulating techniques and therapeutic play into the work, ensures that all my sessions are individually tailored. Working through metaphor, enables clients to explore challenging experiences without the need for words, ensuring that the child or young person is able to access, and over time process, their emotions in a safe and palatable form.
My aim is to help your child or young person foster self-awareness, manage emotions, build confidence, and develop resilience.
I am fully insured, a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and hold an enhanced DBS check. I continue to take part in on-going professional development, new training, and weekly supervision to enhance my practice.
I am available for appointments on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (from September) and Saturday mornings. Please contact me by phone or email to arrange an initial consultation.
Philippa Lewis
Hypnotherapist & Imaginologist
I'm an experienced therapist and coach. Over the last few years I've evolved to using Hypnotherapy as the mainstay for my clients. I work with clients with a wide variety of issues and concerns, such as weight management, anxiety and low self-esteem.
I am also a TNT (Total Neurological Tapping) therapist. This technique, combined with Hypnotherapy, can be useful for phobia removal as well as sport performance, performing arts and business performance improvements.
I've always believed there is a simple approach that most clients need, and it begins with a free 15-minute phone call. After that, in most cases only a few sessions are needed. Many clients have said that even the initial call started to make a real difference. That comes as no surprise really, since we all have the resources we need within ourselves and from time to time a little guidance and support is all that is needed to move things in a positive direction.
