Acupuncture
I am an Acupuncturist and Chinese Medical Herbalist with particular interests in Women’s health, Fertility and Dermatology. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine.
My interest in natural healing led me first to training as an Aromatherapist at the Tisserand Institute. Studying the energetic properties of essential oils and their effects on the body’s Meridians led to my fascination with Chinese Medicine theory and practise, and to qualifying as an Acupuncturist at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture in London.
I have practised acupuncture since 2010 and, after undertaking a two-year Postgraduate Diploma training at Northern College of Acupuncture in York, in 2019 I added Chinese Herbal Medicine to my practice. Whilst acupuncture is a powerful treatment in its’ own right, Herbal Medicine has added a further depth to my practice and enabled me to treat certain conditions more effectively and quickly.
As a Registered Nurse, with experience in a range of acute and community services, I have a good understanding and knowledge of allopathic medicines and treatments. I believe that the carefully considered use of both modern and traditional medicines can be used to achieve the best outcome for patients. Having recently moved to Dorking, I am excited to be starting a new practice at Tillow Barn Health and Wellbeing.
In addition to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, I offer Aromatherapy Massage and Indian Head Massage.
Fertility Acupuncture
My interest in fertility led me to extensively research the effectiveness of acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy in IVF treatment. I offer acupuncture treatments to women undergoing IVF and Embryo Transfer, and to regulate and optimise the menstrual cycle prior to conception. I have undertaken further study with courses with the gynaecology and fertility expert, Jani White, founder of the ‘Acupuncture Fertility Network’, and Debra Betts, author of ‘The Essential guide to Acupuncture in pregnancy and Childbirth’. I provide treatments to address nausea, fatigue and commonly-experienced problems of pregnancy, as well as and labour preparation and acupuncture induction.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
I also offer Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, having studied with studied with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, who developed a system of ‘Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal’, based on the work of the French Acupuncturist, Jacques Lavier. The face is a mirror of the body, mind and emotions. As well as addressing concerns about facial aging, underlying imbalances are treated. I create a bespoke facial and body treatments designed to maximise benefits to health and appearance. I encourage clients to make positive lifestyle changes to enhance and maintain their treatment outcomes.
